Theory Fighter - Street Fighter 4 Tutorials

I just found some tutorials for Street Fighter 4 and I felt them so good I had to share the love. They are well explained so anyone should be able to understand them and include plenty of examples (including videos), snazzy indeed.

MC's Theory Fighter, enjoy.

Making Hugin 0.8.0 autostitch in Windows

Watowdy,
I recently became interested in Hugin, an open source program for creating panoramas from multiple images. Getting Hugin on Windows (at least Vista) to autostitch pictures together doesn't work without changing a few settings.

  • I used the Hugin installer version 4083 (it may work with other versions but I haven't tested) from hugin.huikeshoven.org.

  • When you have installed the program, run it.

  • Now go to 'File > Preferences'
  • Click the 'Autopano' tab and make sure 'Select Autopano' is set to 'Autopano-SIFT (by S. Nowozin)'.

  • Tick the box 'Use alternative Autopano-SIFT program'. Click 'Choose...', then browse to your Hugin directory, then the 'bin' folder and select 'Panomatic.exe'.

  • In the 'Arguments' field, type "-o %o %i" (without the quotation marks).

  • Click 'Apply', then 'OK'.

Now, when you load a bunch of pictures, and click 'Align', it will generate control points for you. For detailed tutorials on actually using Hugin, visit the Tutorials page on the Hugin site.

These settings were found on the Panospace site.

Talk On Mindsight and Mental Health

This is a Google Techtalk by Daniel J. Siegel on how mindsight affects mental (and physical) health.

I'll let the video do the talking, but I will say there is something in here for all of us. Share this with everyone.

I think some of the issues are (un)common sense, like compassion leading to better health (watch the video, I'm just summing up), but it's nice to see some scientific proof. I really liked the bit about integration and optimal flow, being between chaos and rigidity.

And on that note, who doesn't love yinyangs?
